Chapter 57

Cathy showered at lightning speed. She was eager to know what her father had found out that she did not even dry her body before coming out of the bathroom.

She did not care how wet her body was as she hastily put on her pajamas.

“Hey, take your time. Just look at how wet your hair is. You might catch a cold if you don’t dry it. Quickly sit down, and let me help you dry it.” her mother said as she approached her.

She took a towel from the closet before she started drying Cathy’s hair.

“Mom, quick, tell me. What did Daddy find out?”

“Err...?”

Cathy could not take her mother’s hesitation anymore. She took the towel from her hands and threw it on the ground. She stood up and faced her mother, “You promised that as long as it is something that I want, I will always get it. You said that as long as I work my ass off, Daniel would see my efforts. It has been five years already, but what have I gained in the end?”

“Hey, darling, calm down, okay? I will tell you everything.”
