“Zelda!” Drake called out, his voice desperate and pleading. He barged into the room, his eyes wild, his clothes disheveled. The smell of alcohol wafted off Drake, I quickly stood up to support him.

He looked at me. I could see the regret and love in his eyes.

“I apologize for hurting you,” he whispered, his voice thick with emotion. “I

love you more than anything.”

He stood there, vulnerable and unguarded, his words raw and honest. And at that moment, all of my anger and hurt melted away. And at that moment, I knew I still loved him.

“I know that my mistake in the past caused you pain and is still affecting us,” he continued, “But please can we–?

Before he could finish his sentence, I leaned in and kissed him. It was a kiss of forgiveness, of acceptance, of love.

We stood there, locked in a moment of pure emotion, our bodies pressed together.
