I could not wrap my head around the fact that my mate, my pack's Luna, had been poisoned in our pack. It was a betrayal of the highest order, and I was unable to imagine who would have done such a thing. I ran through the list of pack members in my mind, trying to narrow down the list of suspects. But regardless of who it was, they would pay for what they had done. I would make sure of it.

I had thought that when Zelda found her wolf and completed the Alpha pair that everyone had finally accepted her. But apparently, there was still someone in our midst who had enough hatred and jealousy to want to harm her. Yet why?

What could she have done to make someone want to hurt her so badly? I racked my brain, trying to come up with a reason, but I couldn't think of anything. Zelda was a kind and caring person, who had only ever tried to do what was best for the pack. I was at a loss.

I opened my mouth to ask her how she had been poisoned, but I was met with silence. I looked down, and
