Forgive Me

I held Kate in my arms, feeling the weight of the moment between us. I knew that she needed time to process her emotions and come to terms with her past. But I also believed that forgiveness could be a path to healing, and I wanted her to consider it, not just for her stepfather, but for her own peace of mind.

"I know, Kate," I replied, my voice soft yet unwavering. "And I'm not asking you to forget or to absolve him of his actions. But forgiveness can be a way to release the hold he has on you and to free yourself from carrying that burden."
