The Surprise

The anticipation was palpable as I led Kate to my waiting car, a knowing smile playing at the corners of my lips. She looked puzzled but intrigued, bombarding me with questions about our destination. However, I maintained a playful silence, wanting to keep the surprise alive for a little while longer.

As we drove, I watched her curious expression, her eyes filled with wonder. It brought me joy to see her like this, uninhibited and open to the mystery that awaited her. Finally, after what seemed like an eternity to her, we arrived at the luxurious spa.

"Christopher, you're taking me to a spa?" she exclaimed, her face lighting up with surprise.

I chuckled, "You didn't think I'd let you work so hard without giving you a little pampering, did you?"

She smiled, a hint of blush gracing her cheeks. "Thank you, but you really didn't have to."

"I wanted to," I replied simply, helping her out of the car and leading her inside.
