The next night, it's past midnight when I get home. A laugh has just sounded around the apartment, and, dragging me inside with the weight of an exhaustive meeting on my back, I rethink if it was really a good idea to let Penelope have the copy of my key.

My day was productive, but I could hardly think of much while filling me with paranoia related to what happened the previous morning.

Convincing my mother that my fiancé was not called Dean was the most ridiculous role I've ever played. Letting Hunter treat her with intimacy and pretend to know about every damn detail about my family, was even worse. I couldn't look at him as I went to the clinic and left him there, in the care of Penelope. Much less did I manage to go home without removing myself as a consequence by letting my dark side take shape... I lost control for a single second, and it cost me a whole night of tears and nightmares.
