Our First Meeting

*Present*

As I parked in front of the cafeteria I waited for a second then I turned off the car engine. I went out as I walked towards the cafe. Opening the door and hanging out it inside the cafe was so beautiful. I haven't been here for so long, things have changed since the last time I saw it.

As I went in I looked everywhere for her but couldn’t see her then one of the waitresses came to me she asked me for my name when I told her my name I looked confused because last time I came they never asked for our name since we can just walk in then she told me that there was reservation name undermine, she said to follow her and I did as she told me too. She showed me a table right beside the window where me and Andrea used to sit. It was our favourite spot to sit by every time because it had a very gorgeous view across from it.

I was supposed to meet her at 2.00 PM when I looked at the clock it was 2:12 PM then I decide to order a drink I was really thirsty and also so I won’t get bored waiting for her I didn’t know she would take a longer time when the waitress brought me my order which was green tea which was my favourite, I thanked her as she placed it on the table, when he took longer than I imagined I decide to text her I jumped when I saw a black shadow standing right in front of me. “What the fuc..” I said in a whisper but it was loud for him to hear it.

He was a gorgeous man with big muscles. His chest was like a board that someone just laid on his head-on. His beautiful hazel eyes, dark chocolate hair and sharp jaw.

“Katrina?” he said in his husky voice. I stared at him not processing what he was saying as I was still lost in his gorgeous figure, but he looked strange as he was wearing a black suit, he kinda looked like he had an earpiece but when I tried to look at it he turned away.

“May I know who you are, and how do you know my name?” I asked him if I tried to find my voice but I couldn’t as a loud whisper appeared in his eyes.

“Katrina?” he repeated, this time a little louder which made me jump. I nodded my head. Then he turned around and walked toward the door. After a few seconds, he came again. He opened the door and waited as a beautiful girl came in. Oh My God, it’s Andrea. I said to myself I gasped once I saw her. I stood waiting for her to come but I didn’t handle waiting for her to come to me so I rushed toward her hugging her soul out of her as I began to cry.

She looked at me as she wiped my tears with her fingers. I smiled at her as I walked back to our table. But when I looked back at her she looked at me confused, why is her belly like that she looks like she’s..she’s pregnant. OMG is she? I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn’t notice her sitting looking at me confused.” oh” I said as I sat back down. “I missed you,” she said holding my hands in hers, I caressed the top of her hand as we both smiled, “I missed you more.”

I didn’t feel comfortable when I saw the guy was standing behind me so I turned around and asked him “are you gonna sit or stay standing like that all the time?” he looked at me with anger face but I rolled my eyes and looked back to Andrea.“That’s my bodyguard Elijah,” she said when I was about to ask her about her belly, I stayed silent as I looked at her then back to him. “Oh your...your bodyguard,” I stared at his beautiful gorgeous eyes.

As I was sitting by myself after Andrea and her bodyguard left my mind kept thinking about what Andrea asked me for, it was impossible how can I do it? She was asking for too much, what if we got caught, what if he was dangerous. My mind kept thinking and asking many questions, I was scared it’s not something that we can play as a game.

But at the same time, my sister was in danger, I had to help her no matter what, whenever I agree with what she told me but at the same time I pull back I refuse. My mind was swinging left to right. What should I do I kept asking myself.

Flashback

Elijah was a very attractive person to the level that I couldn’t stop gazing at him, from the side of my eyes, when Andrea realized that I was staring at him she kicked me from under the table when I hissed loud he started at me confused then he looked at Andrea. My face turned red when he saw me staring at him.

We asked each other about how everything has changed when we started talking about the school I felt Andrea was upset since she didn’t graduate, she said that she was sorry for what she did and that she left me a year before our graduated because we promised each other that we would graduate together, and attend the same college, but she didn’t keep that promise.

She had her usual beautiful smile once I asked her what happened when she ran away with her boyfriend her smile faded as she looked over at Elijah then back at me, realized her eyes started tearing but she was trying not to cry. I asked her to trust me and tell me everything that happened with her, she stared at me she opened her mouth twice then closed it, “you remember Corbin.” she asked as she looked over to Elija I felt that he was the one who wasn’t allowing her to talk. I looked at him looked him up and down then looked at Andrea nodding my head “yes I do,” he was Andrea’s boyfriend for 2 years of high school.

Our flashback

They were both in love so much that he promised her when they finish college and get their life together he would marry her. Tears filled her eyes as she bein telling me what he did to her when her parents knew about them they didn’t accept him for some reason, Andrea was in love with him to the level she was blind, when her parents or I should say our when they didn’t accept him they asked me to talk to her about it, they told me that they have seen how many time in the night club with a girl.

I was shocked they told me to sit with her and talked about it I told them I will when I didn’t she started yelling telling me that I was a liar and that he would never do that to her, he loved her and they were gonna get married. She told me that I was making this up because I was jealous, She left the room after 2 days when it was 10 PM I went to her room because we do sleepover every Friday, when I went her room was empty I called her thinking that maybe she was in the bathroom when I knocked there was no answer then I saw a latter on the nightstand I rushed toward ut my heart betting faster then it has ever been.

“Mom, dad, and Katerina,

I’m sorry but you know to live without Corbin is like a slow death to me and you not accepting him is something very difficult for me.

I love him and he loves me I am going with Corbin and I won’t come back, I’m going to marry him with your acceptance or not.

I sat on the bed as I clenched the papers in my hand tears running down my face what the hell is wrong with this girl, my parent was very upset after knowing she ran away, after 2 months I graduate and moved to a small city where I studied at their university. Since that time I never saw her or my parents.

Present

She told me that after they ran away he proposed to her and she accepted after they got married in about 3 months she got pregnant with a girl, he never wanted to have kids so he started coming home drunk she started abusing her while she was 2 months pregnant, he brought girls with him home having s8x in front of her, that one time when they were arguing about it, he abused her to the level that he pushed her down the stairs, she fell lost her baby, she told the police on him once they arrested him, she came back but found out that I moved and her parents died in the fire. My heart was broken from her and my parents it was all my fault I shouldn’t have moved to a different city if I was with them nothing would have happened.
