Chapter 67

RISSA'S POV

He made my safety his own priority. To be honest, Drax has really grown from the nonchalant, sad, wounded man I rescued from that trap weeks ago.

"He may be pretending, waiting for us to lower our guard, so he can kill us or escape and alert whoever is working with him." Drax whispered back.

I don't know what his talking about, because the prisoner I'm looking at right now is clearly in a deep sleep. I'm sure we could put him in a car and move him across the country without him moving a muscle.

I was feeling very sleepy, but my conscience wouldn't let me leave Drax awake and all alone. It would be unfair on my part, so I got up and sat with him on the bed.

Lily was sleeping on the other bed, and the prisoner was on the chair tied up. We were the only ones awake. It was dark, and the only source of illumination was the dim yellow light from the table lamp, and the scattered light rays that came from the street lights.
