110. Unfair

"Selena? What's wrong?" I approached Selena, who was sitting pensively in a rocking chair by the pool.

She didn't usually daydream like that. Of course, this worries me; did something bad happen?

"I'm fine," she said with a small smile.

No, I know she's lying. Nothing means something is going on.

"The twins are okay, right?" I sat next to her, staring at her fixedly.

"Kei... Has your dad ever lied to you?" I asked Selena with a face that I couldn't decipher.

Did Dad lie to me? Wait! Did he lie to Selena?

"Dad never lies. At least to me. Did he lie to you? Was he cheating on you?" My scream immediately made Selena shake her head quickly.

"No! He's not cheating! Don't talk nonsense!" Selena exclaimed frantically.

"So, what?"

Hearing my question, Selena just shook her head weakly. She seemed to be thinking. I don't know what made her so doubtful.

"I was idly opening the messages on your dad's cellphone, and I found a very surprising conversation," Selena said slowly.
