33. Can't Take it Anymore

I stopped my steps. Now, my mind and conscience are fighting fiercely within me. Lenny was bullying a girl I knew who was in first grade. And of course, her hands were so light, giving slap after slap to the girl.

That girl reminded me of my old self, and at that time, I really wished that someone would come to help me. But no one ever came for me.

Should I just move on and ignore her as they ignored me? But my conscience strongly refused. I can't bear to look at it.

I grabbed my cell phone from my pocket and called Kenan.

"Hey, what's up?" Kenan asked once the phone was connected.

"When you had to choose between thoughts and feelings, which would you choose?" I asked without preamble.

"Feeling!" Kenan said without thinking.

Yeah, he answered that quickly; of course he didn't think.

"Why?"

"Because if you don't do what your feelings say, you might regret it later!" Kenan answered casually.

I took a deep breath, then ended the call without saying goodbye to Kenan.
