Going Out With Him

Zara's POV

“You haven't answered me yet, Zara! Did you give another reason to Xander to get mad at you?” Benjamin asked me gravely.

That was so unlikely of Benjamin. He had never sounded THIS strict!

He sensed my silence as a yes and immediately said in a condemning tone, “Zara, why do you keep on doing this? Do you even realize who your husband is?”

Xander's sudden missing was surely serious because I could see worry clouding all over Benjamin.

I cleared my throat and said, “So what? You shouldn't poke your nose in our matter. Don't forget Xander and I are husband and wife.”

When I returned my head to the plate of food and took a bite, Benjamin gaped at me incredulously.

“Fine,” he said brusquely on realizing that I wasn't going to entertain him any further.

Turning to Stacy, he said, “Once the Young Master is home, inform me, okay?”

“Yes,” Stacy replied, worried.
