Dante’s POV

“Are they ready for me?” I asked my head guard as I head toward the meeting room, I had called for a council meeting to discuss a way forward about the search for Vanessa.

“Yes my lord, they are waiting for you” he replied immediately.

“Okay, go and confirm if the other search party is back I will join you later” I ordered, before dismissing him.

As I walked into the council meeting my mind was filled with a mix of emotions, frustration, desperation, and a glimmer of hope. The search for Vanessa had been fruitless, and I was grasping at any chance to find my beloved wife.

The weight of responsibility rested heavily on my shoulders as I approached the council members. They were the wise elders of our community, the ones who held the knowledge and experience that could potentially guide me in our search. So I was hoping they would be able to help in my search for my wife and unborn child.
