Chapter 95: It was a crazy escape three weeks ago.

Selene's pov.

It has not always been easy; I have had many jobs and menial work to get what the other kids could afford.

My mother's health did not make things much better, and I had to do the best for both of us, but it never bothered me one bit.

But I never complained, I never felt like I was missing out, and all I ever did was love those around me.

So why me? Why was the world so ready to destroy me?

To hate me.

“It's empty." I said. “It's all empty."

"This doesn't make sense," Darius muttered.

“Where's the prophecy?" I asked Darius. He was busy staring at a blank page of the paper. Panic was beginning to set in my mind, and I could not deal with him panicking.

I grabbed him by the shoulders and shook him. “Darius!! Why are they empty?"

He turned to me with confused eyes. "I don't- I don't know." He scratched his head and returned to study the blank pages.

What the hell did he mean by that? He picked the book; he had to know.

"Did you maybe pick the wrong book?" I asked desperat
