Chapter 3

My Lycan Prince.

Chapter three.

The world is still moving around. It's like everything is in slow motion moving around me in blur. My family talks to me but I can’t hear them. Wade has been walking me to and from bed since last night. Jenny and Rose help me dress, I can’t do it every time I breathe it hurts and when I close my eyes I see Wyatt’s face and the horrible death he suffered for a girl he loved so I don’t sleep.

I’m sitting in the front row of St Walters Catholic Church today for Wyatt's funeral and the thought of never seeing him or hearing his voice again has fresh tears stinging my eyes. As Father Dugan finishes the door to the church opens and Riley walks in. My eyes are on him as I watch him take a seat on the right of the church in the second row. The nerve of this bastard is unreal.

My mother stiffened but she didn’t say anything nor did my father. Three days of walking like a zombie and endless nightmares and sleepless nights I stood on my feet and walked off balance to Riley. He stares up at and raises his brow.

“You look like shit kid,” He mutters shifting on his seat.

“Get out,” My voice barely above a whisper from not using my voice in three days.

“Pardon?” He stands in front of me.

With wobbly legs I moved closer.

“Get the hell out of here. You killed my brother, you're not welcome at his funeral.”

Riley’s fists clench at his sides but he doesn’t leave.

I raise my hand back and slap his cheek. My palm stung from the contact from what felt like bricks. Riley’s black and dangerous eyes widened as they met mine.

“Get out,” I said again.

I pushed his chest and he started moving backwards toward the exit but I couldn’t stop. I just kept him as I cried and told him this was all his fault.

“Stop,” Riley roars.

The church falls silent.

“Fuck you Riley. You're nothing but a coward that couldn’t keep his girl,” I spat.

His breathing was uneasy and his jaw clenched and unclenched.

“One more word and you’ll be punished,” Riley growls venom laced his voice.

“Go ahead,” I pause, nodding my head.

“Do it Riley. I won’t be the only one being punished if you lay one finger on me,”

His jaw tics and his gaze overlooks the room before landing back on me.

“This isn’t over, Lily,”

I nod.

“I know. You will pay for Wyatt’s death,”

…….

After Riley left the church we said our goodbyes and headed to the cemetery where Father Dugan said a prayer and we then said our last and final goodbye.

Once we returned home Father scolded me for speaking to Riley the way I did. Wade argues in my defense as I sat there not uttering a word. If my parents are okay with Riley’s rules after he killed my brother-their son and they still want to live here that’s on them but I won’t…..I can’t be here.

I meant what I said. Riley will pay for what he did to Wyatt.

“Wade, can I come stay with you in Jenny for a while?”

“Of course,” Wade nods and he glances at Jenny who also nods in agreement.

“Absolutely not,” My father says, standing facing Wade like he was going to fight him.

“She has no binds here. She’s been sold, and when the Lycan prince comes to claim her I’ll bring back, until then she’s free to come with me,”

I stand up and turn to Wade, “I’ll get my things,”

Before I walk to my room I face my father.

“I don’t see how you can keep living this life. It cost you two daughters and a son. And you said nothing to Riley when he had the nerve to show up at Wyatt’s funeral. If you want to keep living here and taking orders from your son’s killer then that’s on you but I won’t,”

I ran upstairs and packed some clothes and my books grabbing my purse and my phone and charger and I headed out of the room.

“You’re not leaving this house. If you don’t obey the rules you’ll leave me no choice but to call Riley and have him contact the Lycan Prince,” Father warns me in an attempt to get me to stay, but it won’t work.

Wade’s body tensed beside me and his jaw clenches.

“Dont fucking threaten my sister.”Wade grits through his teeth.

I put my hand on his shoulder and shook my head.

“Let’s go,”

Wade walked Jenny and me to the car and locked the doors while he went back inside to grab the suitcases. Jenny and I can hear dad and Wade arguing and mother trying to calm them both down.

“You stay here and keep the doors locked. I’m going to help Wade,” Jenny says, climbing out and shuts the doors. I lean forward and lock them back.

I grabbed my phone and powered it on for the first time in three days.

Seventy eight messages and forty missed calls.

I scroll through the messages not caring about Archer's threats. The last message causes more tears to stain my face.

:I’m sorry. And if this is too soon for me to say I’m sorry but if you're ready to come home I will come for you.

Home? I don’t have a home. I haven’t considered my parts home for a long while now. Was he referring to his place as home? He doesn’t know me and I don’t know him.

I open the text and read it again.

Home.

I replied.

:Thanks for the offer but no thanks. I’m going to stay with my brother Wade and his wife Jenny for a while.

:Where?

:On an island in the North Pacific.

:Really. What’s the name of this island?

Wade told me what the name of the island was. He has also told me it’s ruled by a king and queen and nothing like the states. It's more peaceful.

:Isa moon bay……I think.

:Isla Martago.

Dang I was close though Wade hasn’t told us the name since he first moved there two years ago.

:Close enough.

:Are you sure you don’t want to come home?

I bit my lips and thought about my options. I know Wade and Jenny will let me stay as long as I would want, but at some point Archer will want me. He paid for me after all.

:Do I have a choice?

:Of course.

:My mom told me you wanted me for a pet….is that true?

:That is what I told Riley, yes.

Does that mean he didn’t want me as a pet?

“Uh…” I groan out loud.

I was saving money to get away from here and away from Archer. Now I’m actually considering going with him? What’s with me today?

:When can you be here to get me?

:Now.

I froze.

Now? Did he say now? I read over his text twice to make sure I wasn’t hallucinating and I wasn’t Archer said now.

Does that mean he’s here now?

:Now?

The three dots appeared on the screen and a text followed.

:Yes. I’m pulling in your parents driveway.

Shit.

Just as a black limousine with tinted windows pulls up Wade and Jenny walks out of the house. I climb out of the car.

“Lily get back in the car,” Wade says standing tall as the limousine stops.

“Jenny get her in the car she doesn’t know he’s here to get her,”

Jenny grabs my arm and pulls me toward the car and I jerk my arm free.

“Jenny, I'm sorry. But I can’t go with you,” Jenny frowns and her lips part as the driver steps out and walks to the rear door.

“Lily, the Lycan Prince is here. He’s come to take you..”

“Home,” I cut her off and her frown deepens.

“Home? Did you just say home, As in his home?” She asked and I nodded.

Through the corner of my eye I saw him step out of the back seat. His black hair was short at the sides and tousled on top and his suit looks like he painted it on…but his eyes, one blue one green as they met my emerald ones.

“You can’t have my sister,” Wade shakes his head.

Archer says nothing as he moves closer toward me. Wade grabs his arm and jerks him back.

“I said you can’t have my sister,”

Archer stiffened as he tore his gaze from me to Wade.

“I suggest you move that hand before you lose it,” His strong accent cut through the air like a knife.

“Wade,” I called after him when he didn't move his hand from Archer's arm.

“Wade please,” I beg and grab his hand that’s holding Archer's arm tightly.

“I can’t lose you too,” I whispered.

Wade glanced at me then sighed as he released Archer.

“Why now? After all these years, why did you pick now to come for her?” Wade demanded to know.

Archer once again tore his gaze from mine.

“I don’t owe you any reasons why I came. She’s mine I want her now end of story,”

“She’s fourteen, you sick bastard let her stay with me until she turns eighteen,” Wade grits through clenched teeth.

“You live on Isla Martago?”

Wade nods.

“Yes, and you can pick her up from there,”

Archer raises his brow.

“My name is Archer, Isla Martago.”

Wade's eyes go wide.

“You own the island?”

Archer nods once then turns his gaze back to me.

“Ready?” Archer asks me and extends his hand for me. I couldn’t stop staring at those eyes. I swear they look so familiar. I placed my hand in his and let him lead me toward the limousine.

“Grab her bags,” Archer tells the driver.

“Wade, please don’t be mad,”

“You don’t have to go with him Lily,” Wade exclaimed.

I sighed and glanced up at Archer through my lashes.

“You said I had a choice right?”

He nods.

“Can I go back with my brother and you can pick me up from the airport?”

“Of course,” Archer moves out of the way so I can walk back to Wade and Jenny once I was inches away Wade wrapped his arms around me.

“Let’s get out of here,” Wade says, opening the car door for me and Jenny and he heads to the driver seat and buckles in and heads in the direction of the airport.
