After dropping Anaya off, I drove to my mansion. My mind was racing from what she had just told me. Her words struck a chord with me. She barely knew who I was. We didn’t spend much time together, but she saw right through me.

I’m still comprehending her words. I wanted to ask her what she meant when she said I wasn’t showing her my real self on the plane. But I could not find the words to do the same. I could see my abrupt behavior change confused her throughout the car ride.

I eventually asked her, and her answer made my eyes widen. When all the people in the world saw me as I showed my mask, how could a girl who had known me for only a few days understand my disguise? She was the first person in the world to expose me.

I may not have shown her, but when she asked to meet the real me, I was delighted, but now that I think about it, I’m terrified. No one knew the true me, not even my best friend. Everyone perceived me as the rich, snobby, ruthless man whore of a Mafia boss.
