I looked across the yard to where my mate and son were and smiled. It's been a roller coaster ride but we work through it all. We've been together for two years today and every day has been a blessing.

Two years ago, Preston and I made the decision to adopt the pup that had been left behind by his parents even if we weren't quite ready. We learned together what raising a child with special needs really was and learned what we needed to know to help him grow to be independent even if he has Down Syndrome. We named him Ajax Cayden. Ajax meaning warrior and Cayden meaning fighter because Ajax was just that. He was a warrior and fighter. He fought from day one. He's our little warrior because he never gave up. Our families had been adamant about us taking on such a big step before we completed the mating but in the end, they supported our decisions and have helped us as best and as much as they could.
