Lucas stood in front of Ari who was fidgety.

“Why are you with my bag?” Lucas asked frowning.

“Oh, I need all your notebooks, I need to compare them to mine, I decided to carry your school bag instead,” Ari said convincingly.

“Did you check the contents of the bag already?” Lucas inquired.

“No, I didn’t bother to,” Arianna said.

Lucas believed her already.

“Does that look like my school bag to you?” Lucas asked.

“Come on Lucas, you’re allowed to have more than one school bag right?” Arianna said teasingly.

“I need to head to my room now, you should rest too baby, and stop worrying about your mother,” Arianna said to him in a bid to lure him back to bed.

She instantly turned to leave, she gave him a peck and whispered “ I love you”.

“I think you should spend the rest of the night over here, it’s almost dawn,” Lucas told her while holding her hand.

Arianna couldn’t imagine spending a whole night with a murderer and a betrayer.
