Twenty Nine

Melina's POV

I woke up disoriented, my head pounding and my body aching all over. I tried to open my eyes but the blinding sunlight streaming into the space I was in made me wince. I quickly raised my hands to block the light and slowly opened my eyes, taking in my surroundings.

Fear immediately gripped me as I recalled what had happened to me. I had been kidnapped – I recalled trying to open the door to my room when I was being attacked from behind.

I looked around and realized that I was in a cell – but not just any cell, I recognized it immediately as Alpha Rick's cell. I had been locked up here so many times before so I knew it like the back of my hand.

The walls were made of concrete, rough and unforgiving to the touch. The floor was made of cold, hard stone, and the only light in the room came from a small window high up on the wall.

I couldn't help but feel confused and scared. How had I ended up here again? What did Alpha Rick want from me? The questions swirled around in my h
