I want dad

Cora’s POV

I know I didn’t explain much to Clyde, I keep telling him that his father can’t be with us. I thought everything is all right because he stops asking about it after all, but it’s just me.

“Clyde, please look at me,” I said as I sat down beside him, “do you really hate the idea of him being your dad?”

He immediately turns and looks at me while the blanket is still wrapped around his body, “That is not what I mean, Mom!” He looks panicked as if he’s afraid that I misunderstood his action. “It’s just that, I don’t know the feeling to have a father.”

My chest tightens, so that is the reason why he reacts like that.

“Do you perhaps, want to know who is your father?” my trembling lips let out the words that I’m not really meant to ask, but seeing him acting like this just because the topic is about ‘father’ made me say it.

“I don’t really want to meet him, but Mom, I still want to ask why he doesn’t want me.” He stutters, biting his small lips to suppress the tears coming out fro
