Chapter 2

Nia's POV

I've never considered myself the crazy type or the type to not have her head in order if you know what I mean but regardless of that there are days where even I walk around the street talking to myself. And once again the only word ringing in my head is 'milk'.

So, I had to go get the milk and head home. Of course, while replaying the bizarre events that took place earlier today. I was so out of it I didn't even realize when I got home and was soon walking into my apartment to be met with Claire questioning gaze and happy squeal at the sight of the milk.

"So how was the interview?" she asked, grabbing the milk from my hand and walking into the kitchen; to make a bowl of cereal I assume.

"I saw his genitals and already know what he sounds like when he moans." I muttered not realizing Claire was back in the living room until I heard the plate of cereal she was eating from fall.

"You lost your v card on the first meeting?!" she exclaimed.

At her words I was pulled from my trance and began to profusely shake my head.  I walked into the kitchen and got some cleaning supplies and began to clean up the mess on the floor. While Claire looked at me closely.

After I was done Claire grabbed my hand and dragged me to the couch. "Start talking." she demanded.

I soon began to spill everything from the moment I left the house, the chanting of the word milk in my head, up until I was in the house cleaning up spilled cereal.

Claire took a moment to process everything I was saying and then she looked at me with a devious grin and asked," so was he big?"

"Claire!" I exclaimed.

"What? Come on you can describe his eyes like Shakespeare possessed you, but you somehow can't describe his dick when it was the first thing you saw. Seriously?" she reprimanded.

"How is that important?" I asked, gaping at her.

"It's not I just wanna know." she shrugged.

Unbelievable. My best friend ladies and gentlemen.

I huffed and got up to go in my room to change without a word to Claire, but of course she couldn't take the hint and continued to follow me in my room repeating the same question over and over again.

"I'm not answering that." I spoke.

"Why?" she pleaded.

I gave her a look that said, 'are you seriously asking?'

"Okay then forget that, how do you feel about working with him so closely?" she asked.

"Closely." I repeated.

"Yeah closely, you do realize what job you accepted. You're his assistant, the person who works the closest to him. You're gonna be by his side the entire working day and who knows he may be the boss that calls you on the weekends." Claire explained.

The gravity of the situation donned on me after her statement.

"Oh, fudge I can't believe I agreed to this!" I yelled.

Claire started laughing at me. "Well on the bright side you won't get fired for bad behavior considering the fact you can't even say fuck or describe his dick." she chuckled out.

See exact opposites me and my best friend.

My day was then spent with Claire teasing me and me having a mini panic attack about work the next day.

The only good thing about my day was the sleep I got after.

Getting up the next morning was easy thanks to my alarm, and I was ready by 7. Claire was still asleep, thank God because I couldn't deal with her teasing me any longer.

The ride to the office was filled with me questioning if I should turn around and just quit but I just couldn't. This was my dream company, and the money was good too.

As soon as I entered, I was met by a smiling Martha.

"So, I'm guessing it went well if you're here today?" she asked.

I closed and opened my mouth repeatedly until I just decided to go for a harmless nod.

"Well, I'll show you to where the fashion department is and where you will be working." she said.

"Oh, I didn't get the job at the fashion department" I explained.

"If not there, the only other job opening was," she looked at me until her eyes widened "you’re his new secretary!" she exclaimed.

I nodded.

"Well then I don't think you need me to show you to his office after all you know where that is." she said. "Good luck, you're gonna need it." she continued walking away and back to her post.

I made my way to the elevator and was up to the 36th floor faster than I would like.

The walls seemed like they were closing in on me as soon as I got off the elevator.

I made my way towards the office that I dreaded the most, hoping within that moment the ground would open up and swallow me, but I was not that lucky.

Each step felt like cement was hardening around me but yet my feet still kept taking strong and firm steps. Just like my head yesterday they both had a mind of their own, and soon I was in front of the office and before I could run my hand raised and knocked on the door.

I waited for a couple of seconds until I heard his voice telling me to come in.

I pushed the door open and was soon met with him sitting behind his desk signing and reading papers.

I took three steps in before looking around the big office wondering if a girl was gonna jump out of nowhere.

The office was at least three times my living room in size. With floor to ceiling windows showing a view of the city right behind Mr. Andrews's desk which was located to the north of the office in the center. A black sectional couch to the right and two doors close to it. On the far left there was a desk and another door leading to what I have no idea. There were bookshelves filled with books on either side of the door you had to enter through. The walls were painted a light blue which went well with the black and white tiles. It was simple yet so modern and sophisticated.

"There is no one here except for me and you on the entire floor so could you please stop looking around my office as if it's an open house." Mr. Andrews stated without looking up from the papers.

"Yes, sir I apologize." I squeaked out because of how surprised I was.

I made my way to his desk and stood in front of him hoping he would tell me what I needed to do so I could get away from him and calm my racing heart.

"Ms. Richardson, I'm happy you can follow simple rules and get here on time. Now to the important part." he said, looking away from his papers for the first time and was now staring at me.

He got up from his desk, grabbed a file and made his way towards me. He held the file in front of me and I took it from his hands.

"This is your work contract. You will be required to be on call 24/7 and work on weekends, if need be, so if you have a love life, I advise you leave now, but on your form, it says you're single so I would assume you won't be leaving." he said looking at me with a raised brow.

I decided to stay quiet and let him continue because he wasn't wrong, I had no love life and no plans to get one any time soon.

"Ok continuing you are to report to work every day at 8. DO. NOT. BE. LATE." He emphasized every word. "You are to report to me directly and keep track of all my meetings and important events which you will be attending with me so please take care of your looks. And finally, you are someone I will need most of the time since you are here to make things easier for me, so you will be working in my office." he finished.

I continued to nod and hum as he spoke until finally his words registered.

"In your office!" I exclaimed.

"Yes, my office" he repeated. "Is there a problem with that Ms. Richardson?" he asked, titling his head to the side.

He was so adorable when he did that. He was a butthole but a good looking one.

"No sir, not at all." I answered.

I quickly opened the file and signed the contract without reading which now that I'm looking back was a stupid thing to do.

He hummed, nodded and walked back to his desk.

"Your desk is over there." he stated pointing his far-left side of the office. I made my way over and sat down to already see a couple of files with instructions there, a calendar with days circled and a book with a sticky note telling me to write important information there.

I started by writing the dates circled and the information on the calendar into the book.

After that was done, I started to review the files and do what the instructions stated. They were written very well and clear, so it wasn't hard to start my work and move pretty fast.

Even though I was moving fast, work was still being piled on desk by my own hands because of course I had to get up and go get the files from Mr. Andrews on my own to come back to start typing and printing and organizing them.

My stomach however reminded me that no matter how much I thought I could accomplish I was not superwoman and I needed to eat.

The sound was so loud that it could be heard throughout the entire office.

Mr. Andrews decided to ignore the sound and continue, and I was going to do the same until my stomach decided to let its presence be known once more.

"Ms. Richardson did you not eat before coming here this morning just so your stomach can be a distraction to me?" my boss asked.

"N-no sir I did I guess I'm just hungry now since it's lunch time." I stuttered.

He looked at his watch and made a small sound in the back of his throat.

"I guess it is lunch time, in that case you may leave to get that noisy thing some food but be back here in an hour, a minute later and I will shorten your pay." he ordered.

I got up with a simple nod and a yes sir and made my way to the door and from there to the elevator. Once I was in the elevator, I felt like I could breathe again, and I was finally able to get some emotion back into my body besides annoyance and fear.

My feet carried me quickly to the door of the building without any time to waste I walked to my car and drove to the fast-food restaurant I knew was close by got my food and was soon on my way back to the office after eating in my car all with thirty minutes to spare.

No way was I giving him the chance to take away anything from my paycheck.

Back on the elevator I was again met the inability to breathe or feel any positive emotion.

I slowly made my way to the office already aware of what I was gonna be met with, which of course; was more work.

I carefully knocked on the door and waited to be invited in before I entered the office. I made my way to my desk, and I realized he lift his head to look at me with a raised brow and a frown.

Ms. Richardson, where did you go for lunch?" he asked, getting up from his desk and walking to the front of it to now sit on it.

I was taken aback by the question and was frozen in my spot just a few feet from my desk and his and needed to process it. "Um a fast-food restaurant about fifteen minutes away." I answered.

His frown deepened "you smell like cheap meat and smoke" he criticized.

"I'm sorry sir I have some perfume and deodorant in my bag I'll try to get rid of the smell soon." I apologized feeling embarrassed.

He held his hand up and looked me dead in the eye.

"Those won't get rid of the scent." he said.

"So, what would you have me to do sir?" I inquired.

He looked at me while his tongue poked the inside of his cheek and then bit his lip.

"You can't work in those clothes." he said, getting off the desk and walking towards me slowly like a predator to their prey.

"Take them off."
