Chapter 14: This Really Sucks

Closing my eyes, I take a deep breath and then hold it for ten seconds.  When I take another, I find that something feels different.  I can sense a presence. 

Not wanting to really find out what is in the room with me, I pull the covers even higher over my head and I don’t open my eyes for nothing.  Eventually, I drift off to sleep after I feel that the coast is clear, and my fears have subsided.  However, I was not expecting to feel a very cold hand on my arm in the middle of the night, but when I do I start to shake severely. 

I don’t live with a single soul and my parents had died years ago so it wasn’t them.  Not to mention, no one else had keys to my small apartment in the city where break ins are all too common.  Is this a burglar checking to see if I am really asleep or a serial killer who wants to get his jollies off hearing me scream?  Honestly, I don’t know, and I don’t care just as long as they leave me alone, s
