40 — I won't regret it…

Jasper turns to me abruptly, looking with surprise all over his gaze. He sticks out his tongue, like to moisten his lips, but stops before it touches the wound, probably because he remembers my scolding….

“Are you serious?” He asks me after a long moment of silence, bringing his hand to his chin.

“Don't make me regret it.” I say seriously, and struggle to keep my attitude stiff when a silly smile breaks out on his lips.

He moves in quickly and gives me a quick kiss on the lips — but grunts soon after. Ah, the wound…

Then he lets out a laugh and rests his hands on the mattress, one on each side, trapping me, and leans in, almost brushing our lips together, but just mixing our breaths.

“It's too late to regret it… it's extremely rude to withdraw an invitation once it's been made.”

I pout… I'm not going to withdraw the invitation, even if it makes me angry, because I know it's the right thing to do. Still, I try to look serious… which doesn't last long, since Jasper's smile is catching a
