Looking like a lost and rejected sheep, I started making my way back to my room, blinking my eyes continuously to stop tears from dropping out of my eyes.

The people at the academy knew about my mother, but none of them were willing to say a word about it. I thought of Claire and how she told me to avoid delving into the situation, but I didn’t want to believe her. My mother had dropped that letter for me before she died and that simply meant that she wanted me to get into the details of what might have happened to her.

At this, I made my way back to Claire whose quarters was located some distance away from the dorm.

“Claire!” I shouted, hitting her door and panting heavily.

She didn’t get the door until I added more intensity to my fist and made it louder.

“Who is it that wants to bring down my door?” She asked with a big frown on her face just as she finally opened the door.

She sighed deeply when she saw that I was the one after which she ushered me into the room.
