Jason. It was high time we closed up the rift we had with Kayla. She was going to win either ways and we were only hurting ourselves by extending the entire situation. All I craved for was utmost peace. I wanted us to be at peace with our mate and return to the times when we stayed together joyfully. However, it seemed as though that wasn’t forthcoming because each step we took only led to more disaster. Our father was being stubborn and that infuriated Kayla to the core. Now the question was “what should be done?” “How about we tell the entire park what our father did to your mother?” I asked with a voice that sounded like a whisper.
Third person. It was late in the night Kayla received a letter from a servant who walked in with a veil on his face. Once she picked up the letter, she knew that it had come from Denver’s pack. “We are coming for you. Remember our promise? It’s time to start the war”, the note was brief but enough to send cold shivers running down her spine. She sighed deeply and tore the note into tiny shreds after which she sank into her bed, quite unsure of what to do. That was the plan all along, to return back to her pack and help them out when they come to attack. She was very much okay with this, except that the quad might get hurt in the process.
The quad weren’t really surprised by what was currently happening at the pack. They had gotten a notice that Denver was coming around to attack and they had informed their father. However, their father was not willing to accept that. He believed that Denver was at peace with him and at this, it was merely rumors trying to create a rift in his relationship with Denver’s pack. Ethan was the first to run into his father’s study. He had caught sight of a group of werewolves and quickly pointed them out as enemies. “Denver is here…to attack”, Ethan dropped and for a minute, his father though that he had heard wrongly. They needed Kayla. They all knew it.
KAYLA I nervously made my way to the chambers of my quadruplet stepbrothers, dragging my feet as I wished never to get to the door that led to their chambers. This spelled trouble because they never called me unless it was for punishment or for taunting. My heart raced as I entered the room mainly because the look on their faces pointed out that this was not a friendly meeting. One of the quadruplets smirked as I entered the room, “Look who we have here, if it's not our very own Kayla… stand there!” He said in a stern voice. I walked to the spot he pointed at and took my place in front of them. I noticed Ashley, one of the quadruplet girlfriends, sitting on the thighs of her boyfriend, looking at me with so much disdain. The tension in the room was palpable, and I knew that something was up. Before I could say anything...“Kayla, what the hell were you thinking to want to poison my lady?” Ashley's boyfriend, Jason, angrily questioned me.“Huh!” I groaned, clearly taken aback, my mi
KAYLAThe morning light seeped through my windows, beaming gently on my face. At first, I covered my face with my pillow, trying to avoid the light and then, I rolled to the other side of the bed… tired from so much exhaustion. Suddenly, I remembered that today was a special day, my birthday. I yawned and sat on the bed, feeling a sense of excitement. I was finally eighteen! I got up and stretched, feeling the stiffness in my muscles from sleeping in an uncomfortable position. As I walked over to my window, I couldn't help but admire the beautiful view outside. The sun was rising, painting the sky with shades of orange and pink– it was a relief that at least something was colorful today. I stared blankly into space before I went to curl up on my bed. I was startled by the knock on my door.” I'm coming to get the door,” I said, as I groggily got out of bed and made my way to the door. It was one of the Gamma, the head servant.“And what in the moon goddess name are you still doing in
KAYLA.With trembling hands, I pushed the door open, ignoring the cold, eerie air that hit me right on the face. The room was dark, with no windows or source of light, and I squinted my eyes to adjust to the darkness of the room. I could hear my breaths in the quietness, and the creaking of the wooden floorboards under my feet. It felt like a thousand eyes were watching me, and every shadow seemed to hide a monster waiting to pounce and tear me into shreds.I walked gingerly around the room, supporting myself with the couch and the small ray of light that seeped in through a crack in the wall.“Argh!” I groaned in muffled tones as I hit my foot on an object and stumbled slightly. I quickly covered my mouth. I couldn't afford to be caught– I would be food for the bears if I'm caught in here. I looked down to see an old rug, covered in dust and cobwebs. The room was a mess. The furniture was draped in sheets and spiderwebs, as if no one had been in here for years. I slowly made my way a
KAYLA.“Please, Father, forgive me. I had no idea that it was a banned compartment”, I pleaded, with my voice trembling in fear and pain. I should have been out of this place but the words of my mother and the letter made me realize that that might be a dream which wouldn’t come to pass anytime soon. I would continue to be subjected to the same old fate– rejection and punishment. I knelt before the Alpha king-my step Father, vulnerable and helpless as he towered over me. He looked at me with a cold, stern expression as he spoke in a deep voice. It was hard to think of how swift it was for people to change. I could still recall how sweet he was the day my mother and I moved into the pack house as his new family. He had treated me so nicely that I found a father in him…something I never had. All of that changed the moment my mother passed… "You have committed a grave offense by entering into that room. And as such, you will be punished. You would kneel under the sun until it sets. M
KAYLAAs the sun began to set, the guard watching me finally spoke, “You can go now, Kayla. It's dusk, unless of course you want to take over my job,” he grinned mischievously.I felt a wave of relief wash over me as I collapsed onto the ground, my legs feeling like jello. “Thank you,” I managed to say between gasps for air– for a while, I thought I was going to die whilst kneeling.I slowly got up, my body ached, and my legs were shaky from staying under the scorching sun for so long. I started making my way back to my room. Just then, my mind went back to the scenario that happened earlier with my stepbrothers– I couldn't imagine being mates with them, the price I would pay if I was found out sent shivers down my spine.I walked back to my room, lost in my thoughts and unaware of my surroundings, that I bumped into someone. “Ugh,” I groaned and looked up to see Jason, standing before me, with his eyes as cold as ice. Jason hissed spitefully, “You clumsy little witch!”I moved bac
