“What was the condition you spoke about yesterday?” I asked Barbara who was still screaming in excitement because of how I was able to make use of my powers to get myself to walk again.

This was truly strange. On my part, I was yet to fully sink into the fact that I actually had powers that were able to make my legs walk again, even if they were going to get paralyzed if I was a normal person.

“You should relish in the present excitement. You have great powers that have never existed before”, she dropped and somehow, my mood went sour.

It was a big thing and at the same time, it looked scary. She earlier told me that I would be in danger if anyone came to learn of the type of powers I possessed and so, what was there to be happy about.

The only thing I wanted at this point was to find out who killed my mother and take my revenge on him or her. I didn’t want to care much about the powers because they would probably remain hidden for the rest of my life.
