Chapter 24: A Frightening Encounter

The next morning, Anna and Ethan awoke still holding one another.

"Good morning," said Ethan as he reached over to kiss her.

"Good morning," she answered, and their lips met with a warm familiarity.

"I could get used to this," he said, smiling.

"And you will," she said playfully.

Feeling relaxed and comfortable, they fell back into each other's arms and made love once again.

"I could do this all day," Ethan laughed when they finished.

"Oh, no," said Anna, suddenly sitting up in bed.

"What, you don't want me to?" Ethan said, laughing lightheartedly.

"No, I mean yes, but it's not that. I forgot. I mean, I just realized I promised the school's principal that I'd help out with classes today. A few of their summer school teachers are on an overnight field trip and won't be back." She looked over at Ethan. "I'm so sorry. I think I have to leave. I don't want to go."
