Chapter 36: Back Home

The feeling was bittersweet as Anna and Ethan arrived at the airport. She had wished they'd had more time to spend with his parents. Anna had been surprised at how comfortable she'd felt around the Greenfields - it was as if she had known them for a lifetime. Anna had also wished she could have gone to some of the city's other attractions, although she certainly didn't miss all the people who constantly came around vying for Ethan's attention.

This time, she wasn't nervous about the takeoff at all, having just experienced the flight on the private jet only a couple of days ago. She nestled into Ethan's arms and felt so comfortable against his strong, warm body that she even fell asleep for a while.

The plane landed smoothly, and Anna and Ethan headed to the parking garage to retrieve Ethan's car. They drove home holding hands as Anna watched the peaceful fields of green pass by, the breeze sending ripples across the crops, fanning out like waves across a country lake.
