A fight under the moonlight

CHRYS

I've been beating myself for close to thirty minutes. Not only am I in the hots for him, but my stupid wolf claims he's my mate.

Worse of all, I allowed him to pleasure me without doing anything to stop him!

I'm such a whore for letting him touch me. How can I face Gordon after this?

I glanced back at the house.

I ran away after he left, and for close to an hour, I had been standing out here.

“Why are you out here?” Gordon asked when he came close to where I was.

I was startled by his question. My breath hitched in my throat as my cheeks turned red in shame. How can I face him now, knowing I moaned out loud as his son finger-fucked me?

“Chrys?”

“Oh, I needed a breath of fresh air,” I nervously chuckled as I turned to face him, with guilt probably written on my face. Though it felt refreshing out here, I feel suffocated.

“I apologize for not telling you I had a son before we got married. I presumed it wouldn't be a problem because he never visited.” He sighed, “If you don't want him to stay here, I can ask him to leave.”

“No, it's okay.” I forced a smile. “He's just a kid, it shouldn't be a problem.”

A kid? How can I call a man who's good with his fingers a kid? I never considered him to be one as he fingered me. But here I am, calling him a kid in the presence of his father.

“Hmm.” Gordon checked the time on his wristwatch. “I have a place to be in. I won't be able to keep you company,” he looked guilty. It was as if a word from me could stop him from leaving.

“Today is Friday.” I pursed my lips. “Where are you heading to?” I tried not to look into his eyes, so he wouldn't discover my sin with just a look.

“My friends invited me for a drink. I won't be late. I will return in time for dinner.” He placed a gentle hand on my back. “Should that brat give you a hard time, call me, okay?”

He has already given me a hard time.

I so badly wanted to say, but instead, I nodded my head and forced a smile, “Mmm.”

I only hope he won't try something funny again because I can't fight against him —not with my wolf purring about him being her mate and all kinds of stuff like that.

“See you when I return.” He turned and left.

I stood at a spot and watched him leave. The way his shoes silently made noises, made me smile. Gordon is a silent walker. He can sneak up on you without your knowledge.

However, after I told him how much I hated that, he started wearing shoes that made squishy noises, to alert me of his presence.

It pained me that I'm cheating on a man like him, with his son. As guilty as I felt, I knew I wouldn't be able to stand against his son.

I stood in the same spot I was in until the sun made a descent before I glanced back at the house to make certain there was no one on the terrace. With the coast clear, I changed into my wolf.

A howl tore from my throat when my bones got twisted. It has been a long since I last changed into my wolf —that was why the feeling was a bit intense.

I stretched my back and turned once more to look at the house before I made a mad dash into the forest.

'Finally!' Chels growled. 'I missed this.'

Me too.

I missed running through the forest, unhindered by anything. The feeling is both refreshing and uplifting. I can't tell how long I ran until I fell on the grass.

Gordon lived far from the city —away from civilization. The house before ours is more than a mile away. Back when I first came to his house, I was scared, thinking he was one of those walkers of the night.

It wasn't until I got to know him that I understood he's nothing more than a human. It put me at peace.

I sighed.

The bright full moon cast glows on the shadows of the trees and made them seem more inviting than they looked.

If only I could stay locked in the present, then I wouldn't have any problems. I won't be worried about my pack catching a whiff of my trail. And neither will I meet my stepson, whose scents make me feel at home.

'He's our mate!' Chels stubbornly claimed.

I know.

I resisted the urge to roll my eyes at her. It seems the more time she spends away from the pack, the more her memories seem to get muddled.

'He's our—' She paused. 'We are not alone, Chrys!'

At her words, I rose from the ground and turned towards the part of the forest where the scent was emanating from.

I growled as the three pairs of red eyes I saw finally emerged from the trees.

From the familiar scent, I can tell they are from my pack. The men changed into their human form the moment they came nearer. Their identical golden eyes and black hair made me know that they were the Deltas of the pack.

Just like them, I changed back to my human form and folded my arms. Not for the first time, I was grateful that, unlike the werewolves they write about in books, our clothes don't shred when we change.

If not, I would have been facing three naked men.

Eww.

I won't ever wish for that scene.

“You are three?” I chuckled. “It seems my father has learned his lessons after the two he sent.”

Though I narrowly escaped, I was able to beat those men. Those were Gammas. And now Father sent Deltas? I bet the next ones to be sent are the Betas.

“Luna, your father asked us to bring you home.” The tallest one among them said.

At 6'4 (1.93 m), he towered over my 5'6 (1.68 m) frame. But not by much.

“And if I don't agree to that?” I raised a brow and pursed my lips, challenging them with my eyes as I sized them up.

“Then, you leave us with no choice, Luna. We were ordered to bring you back to the pack, willingly or unwillingly.” The second man spoke and his golden eyes sparkled.

“Funny enough, I have no desire to return to the pack," I grinned. “Are you going to force me to do that?” I acted innocent.

“I'm afraid, but we will have to do that," the leader said before they raced towards me.

TSK.

These Deltas are still learning. I stood my ground and watched them approach as I tried to gauge their strong points.

One of them raised his hand, to knock me on my shoulder, but I kicked him on the stomach, and turned, just in time to hit the other one on his nose.

The third wasn't as lucky as the others. I kicked him on his shaft and had him doubling over in pain.

“Want more?” I innocently beamed, taunting the men as I tried to get a rise from them.

With a growl, they changed into their wolves.

Goddess.

With a sigh, I pinched the bridge of my nose.

Why can't these men see that I'm not in the mood for games?

'Let's show them what we have got, Chrys.' Chels chuckled, eager to have a little exercise.

Then, let's do it. I also changed into my wolf before I growled at them in a challenge.

The three men advanced towards me like I knew they would. This time, they didn't try to claw me. Instead, they met me head-on with their elongated fangs, ready to sink them into my body.

I lay on the ground and turned, so my back was on the floor with my stomach up.

Before the first one who approached me knew of my plans, I had already clawed him on his stomach.

He howled out in pain as I kicked him on the back and made to rise. With my focus on the man, I failed to notice one of them sneaking in on me until I felt his claw on my back.

With a growl, I hit that one off with my claws and jumped on him. I went straight for his neck, and I bit down on it, hard.

A painful roar tore from his throat as he thrashed under me. The two wolves behind me, used my distracted opportunity, to hit me off him.

I collided with a tree and fell on the floor.

Fuck.

That hurts.

I slowly rose from the ground, and changed into my human form, with my claws still elongated in a partial change.

Before any of them could notice, I raced towards them and clawed their back. Similarly to the one I bit on the neck, they growled before they fell on the floor.

Yet, I wasn't satisfied with that. I clawed their backs once more and watched as blood sipped out of their backs. Only then, did I smile.

“Tell your Alpha, my father, that I won't return.” I sneered out each of those words, to show them how serious I was about them.

I'm going to make a home here with the humans, away from the responsibilities of the pack. I don't need them, and I've never needed them.

Leaving the pack was one of the best decisions I made. All my life, I've lived under the shadows of my father, doing all he asked of me.

But not any more.

I'm no longer the Chrysalis that left home. I'm now Chrys.
