I dreaded going home but there was nothing I could do about it, I had two fight matches I couldn't miss. I had been too distant from the ring. I also had so much work waiting for me as I needed to find enough evidence to put my father away for good.

I knocked softly on her door but got no response. I opened the door slowly, poked my head in, and saw her sleeping soundly on the bed. She looked so peaceful and beautiful, her face free of worry and just innocent. 

I’d probably see her when I was back. I’d make sure to finish up early so I was home before my Dad got home.
