ALEX'S POVClaire shouldn't stay alone unguarded because of Nathaniel. I couldn't really focus on work because Nathaniel was in the same building as me. I soon stepped out of the study and then I saw him shutting the door to my room sneakily and a frown made its way up my lips. I watched as he left the door towards the main lounge and I hurriedly walked into my room to check up on Claire. She was sleeping on the bed peacefully like a baby. I walked over to her and planted a kiss on her forehead and cheeks before heading out of the room to follow Nathaniel. He isn't to be trusted at all. I slowly followed him as he went into the woods. Luckily, he didn't notice my presence at all. He was mysterious but what exactly was he looking for in the woods by this time? CLAIRE'S POVI didn't know what exactly was wrong with Luna Lisa, but she didn't sound like herself at all. She had never been angry at me before, so I didn't know what I did for her to act like that. I looked around my room to search for what to take along to Alex's room. We didn't know how long Nathaniel would spend here, but the way he looked at me devilishly was enough to make me scared if I wasn't before. I pulled open my wardrobe to pick some important things and then around my room. Everything contained a cardboard box, which was enough for me. As I pulled open the balcony door, I could hear Luna's voice from the passageway, and I rushed out, so as to apologize to her if I did anything wrong. As I got there, I ran straight into her. "Luna. CLAIREI didn't bother to ask him what he wanted or why he was in my room. Whatever the case might be, I knew Nathaniel was not a man who should be trusted on any level at all. Heck, the man had done nothing but proved that he was the demon's spawn for a while now. It would be suicidal to try and reason with him. So, I just did the next best thing that came to my mind.I screamed my lungs out. Or rather, I tried to scream my lungs out. The man was in front of me before I even opened my mouth, and his hand clasped my mouth shut, effectively preventing me from doing what I aimed."Bitch!" He yelled at me. All I was after was making sure that I was safe.

CLAIRE I couldn't imagine it. Nope, I refused to imagine it. The kind of pain and trauma Alex must be going through just seeing as their mother - someone who was supposed to be neutral between the two people - had taken the side of just a child. Not just any child, but the child who was the prodigal son if we were to think about it well. Claire's POV The next day, I was forced to eat breakfast on my own as none of the family members were available to be seen in the dining room. I understood their plight each, except for Nathaniel, though. Or maybe I didn't understand the plight of either of them except Alex, whom I was sure was hurting from the actions of his people, especially his mother. How could the woman force her son into a corner like that? Was she not supposed to be neutral when it came to her two sons? She was not supposed to show one affection while ignoring the other! No matter what her excuses were, she shouldn't have forgotten that it was the two of them who were facing hard times during this season. So, how could she pick a side?Just thinking about the incident the previous day brought my anger again, making me boil. It was so much that I was sure that I would murder somebody if I laid my eyes on them. That somebody was notorious Nathaniel. Maybe get angry at Luna Lisa also for her reckless behaviour.

Claire's POV The hand I had on the button I was trying to loosen up collapsed and fell to my sides. I turned to look at Luna Lisa and saw the sadness on her face."Something is wrong with Nathaniel."
