Chapter fifty-one

David's POV

"Daddy!"

"Hey there, big guy!"

"Mommy said you were going with us to California and helping pack?" He asked, wrapping himself around my legs.

I picked him up in my arms, throwing him into the air.

"I am, is that okay with you?" I asked.

"Of course, I get to show you all of my favorite toys! Do you wanna see them?"

"I would love nothing more!" I said looking over to Charlie.

I had no idea how these few days were going to go between her and I, and for the first time I was extremely nervous to be in her presence. The last time we talked on the phone didn't end well and I don't know how she's going to act towards me.

This time thing will be different, I want Charlie. I want our family.

I hope they can't hear just how loud my heart is beating, but by the time she stops directly in front of me, I'm sure she can.

"Hey David, thanks for offering to help. If you wanna put Killian in his seat I'll put our
