“It’s bedtime, squirt.” I look at Jaden’s pleading face.
“I want to stay with mommy” He pouts and looks at his mother, who can never say no to him.
“Akachan can stay with mommy.” He grins push past me and runs over to his mother, who is on the couch resting. He lies down, putting his head on her thighs as I shake my head.
“It’s already past his bedtime, my love.”
“It’s one night; it will be fine; I want to stay with my baby.” I sigh. It’s every night this month since she’s been on bed rest due to the pregnancy. Jaden gets up and grabs a pillow.
“ Mommy, are you comfortable? Does your back hurt?” Daddy gives mommy a massage.” He looks over at me expectantly.
“ well, I guess I’ll give mommy a massage,” I reply grinning, he really thinks I’m here only to serve his mother. I make my way over and start rubbing her back.
