“Mathew doesn’t want the pup. He asked me to get rid of it.”

I stood up abruptly, holding Vanessa who had began sobbing in my hands, helping her seat down on the bed as I knelt down, wiping her tears so she could repeat herself and confirm that I didn’t hear wrong.

“What did you say?” I asked and she sniffled, wiping the tears that trickled down her chin as her lips wobbled. “M-Mathew, he doesn’t want the pup. I don’t know what to do. He asked me to get rid of it but how?” She cried out, I pulled her against me, allowing her cry all she wants.

Just what is going on? I would’ve never expected this from Mathew of all people. I’ve always thought of him and Vanessa as the perfect couple, they just seemed so in love, he looks at her like she holds the stars in her eyes but this? A pup being brought into this world should be the best thing to happen to a parent, knowing their pup would be brought into this world is something amazing.

“Did something happen? Did you fight with him? I
