Over the next year, Tim called me at least once a week. He would talk to me about how his health was doing. I became the friend he needed because I was objective about his death. I wasn’t encouraging him to get better or feel better about it. Instead, I was helping him to face it. All he seemed to worry about was how it would affect Dominique or his children.
