Abby sat beside Chris at the dining table. It was the first time she was dining with the family. She felt a little nervous.

She tried turning them down at first when she was invited over. However, Mrs. Blake had personally gone to pick her up. She didn't have a choice.

Chris smiled and picked up a piece of meat for her. He was all smiles from the moment he got her back.

However, Mr. Blake served her more vegetables. “Vegetables are healthy. You have to make sure that my grandchild is healthy,” he said.

Mrs. Blake could not help laughing. “Some meat doesn't do any harm,” she said, turning to look at Abby. “Don't mind him. He was also always so obsessed when I was pregnant with Chris.“

Abby smiled back. She was happy that the family of three had fully accepted her as one of their own. She didn't have to worry about giving birth alone or raising her child by herself.

However, they had just begun eating when someone walked straight to the dining room. All the chattering died down.
