Abby was so stunned. “What? But do you have a place to sleep?“ She asked. If Chris did not have any business in town, then he was here to sleep.

Chris sighed. “Your bed is big, right?“ He asked jokingly, but Abby felt a shudder down her spine.

She hurriedly shook her head. “We can't share the bed, Chris,” she said. She wasn't going to do that.

Chris did not look offended. He just smiled at her. “Why? I don't eat people,” he said.

But Abby still shook her head continuously. “Because you are a man, and I am a woman,” she said in a trembling voice. She just could not share the bed with him.

Chris chuckled. “Ooh, I see. At least you have acknowledged that,” he said, putting his hands in his pockets. “Can I sleep on your couch then?“

Abby seemed hesitant. “Um, there is a guest room on the other side of the road. Do you want us to check it out?“ She asked.
