Ch48: Don't talk about her

The old man looked at Xin and scoffed. “Don't take me for a fool, grandson! I saw your eyes on her,” he said, and he proceeded to take a seat. “You can fool me all you want, but I swear not to spare her if anything happens.“

A certain coldness washed over Xin's back. He knew exactly what his grandfather meant. He was silent for a few seconds before shaking his head. “Grandpa, I am not interested in something that I dumped in the past. I just think that I have some use for her,” he said.

The old man creased his brows. “What do you mean? She is just a useless village girl who only knows how to cry,” he said. He didn't like the girl at all.

Xin pursed his lips, his hands clenching into fists under the table. He did not like it when anyone else ridiculed Isabel. He was the only one who was allowed to do it.
