“How is she?” Xavier tried not to sound anxious, but he couldn't hide his panic despite many efforts. Theo let out a heavy breath and pocketed his hands helplessly as his family stared at him, expecting an update.

“Doctor Mason is about to take her to the delivery room.” He said casually, though his voice wobbled at the end. He then zeroed his gaze on Hilda, “do you think you can be in there with her?” He asked pleadingly. “Mason thinks that I am too panicked and will probably do more harm than help in my state.” He added quietly.

“Of course, baby.” Hilda accepted without hesitation. “It would be an honor.”

“Then I suggest you go in there and get scrubbed.” He pointed the way he had just come. Hilda began moving and then remembered she was still clutching to her handbag. She stopped and tossed it to Martin, who caught it expertly. She picked in her strides and just when she was about to disappear through the closed doors, Theo called out. “Mum,” Hilda turned with a kind smile. “Please
