Chapter 27: Healing An Injured Soul

Izzy's PoV

It's not her body that is injured, It's her soul. Gracelyn is silently looking at the window again. She never uttered a single word since she woke up. I voluntered to take care of her so that her parents can work and they'll have some money to pay her hospital bills.

"Gracelyn?"

She glanced at me.

"Let's eat the food is ready".

"I'm not hungry".

She said. It's what she always she. She's so thin now. I can't even recognize her. Her hair is a mess, her skin is so pale and her eyes are deep and dull.

I exhaled a sigh of sadness.

" Just come to the kitchen whenever you're hungry".

She didn't reply. She just resume in looking at the window like there is something attractive there that she don't want to take her eyes off it.

It's already been a week but nothing changed. Her injuries in her body and head are healing but her heart doesn't.

"How is she?".

"Nothing new mom."

"Why don't we bring her to the beach ? Maybe the sea breeze we'll make a difference?"

I nodded in excitement.
