Chapter 64: You tried to kill me.

“Sienna!”

I kneel on the floor and cradle Malachi’s mother’s head in my laps. I tap her face lightly and i ask tentatively, “Sienna? Sienna, are you okay?”

She’s alive, I can see her chest rising and falling. Now i just need to know if she can see and know enough not to think i tried to kill her.

Malachi’s mother begins to cry.

I can’t tell if the tears are fake or genuine, i just know she begins to cry, so i do the only thing i can think of doing in situations like this, i begin to console her, “Shh, it’s okay, Sienna. It’s okay. You didn’t die. You’re still alive.”

Almost like my words touch some feral nerve in her, the cries intensify and i hear what she’s saying in between those blubbering tears, “You just tried to kill me, Antonia.

I… I know you hate me, but is it enough to want to kill me?”

I notice Ian’s presence a few paces away, and i can’t help the glare i shoot him. Sienna is crying again and repeating the same accusation that i tried to kill her
