Chap 34

Allison's POV

I struggled with everything I had to get away from his grip. His hands around my wrists only tightened. In his eyes, I saw and felt intense desire. It was a feeling I had come to know and recognize as a result of our previous intimate encounters. It was a feeling I had never thought someone like me would experience. But the desire was there now, slightly smoldering. If Dante continued being this close to me, I was afraid that he would ignite a spark I did not want to feel. 

"Let go," I said, turning my head away slightly, avoiding his gaze. 

I was suddenly aware that the couch underneath me was trembling a little bit. I would have liked to say that I didn't contribute to it but that would have been a lie. My body was tense and vibrating like a tightly drawn string. 

"You feel it, don't you?" he asked in a husky whisper.
