"Mommy? Why are you standing there?"

The voice just now made Lily gasp. She smiled. "Can I come in, dear?"

Farel nodded quickly. "That's fine. Daddy was just about to read a storybook to me, wasn't he?"

Keenan muttered softly while flipping through the book in his hand. Lily, on the other hand, kept her cheerful face as much as possible.
