Chapter 16: 20 Questions

Knight’s P.O.V:

“You paid for your college tuition?” I asked her. “What about your parents? They didn’t help you pay for it?”

“Oh, they wanted to.” She shook her head. “But I insisted that I’d pay for my own tuition. I was eighteen and I could earn my own money.”

“That’s so…sensible. Not a lot of people would think that way.” I told her thoughtfully.

“I know. My brother was my biggest inspiration actually. He started working way before he turned eighteen.” She said. “He didn’t really have to work since both my dad and mom have their own companies that he could inherit, but he decided to be a painter instead.”

“So, he’s a painter.” I said. That seemed like the only part of her story that sounded believable. Her mom and dad owning companies though…I somehow found that impossible. Why would she have to work as a model if her parents owned separate companies? Shouldn’t she be livin
