Chapter 52: Crash Course into the Supernatural

With no more patients on the horizon, Bailey and I locked up the Clinic and headed toward the cafeteria. Even though it was the afternoon, it was still early. So, we were sure that they hadn't locked down the place to prepare for dinner yet.

"So, when would you like to begin our training?" As we stepped into the cafeteria, I saw I was right; the buffet was still open. I took a plate, handed it to Bailey, and then took one for myself, too.

Bailey shrugged, stepping up in line. "Today, if you like."

My eyes nearly bugged out of my head. "Seriously? You're not too tired?"

She chuckled as she slipped a piece of rotisserie chicken onto her plate and then moved down. "I'm a shifter. I don't get tired or sore, not unless it's something serious." She shrugged. "And now that you're a shifter, you won't either."

A smile lit my lips as I took a huge piece of rotisserie chicken, and then another. I had never eaten so much in my life, but for some reason, I was famished. "And I won't age either?"
