Chapter 83: Silver and Gold

Daphne and I combed through spells in her grimoire, looking for anything that might help, but found nothing.

"There is something that might work." Daphne rose from her seat, headed back over to the bookshelf. She removed another book, and then started paging through. "Ah-ha!"

"What?" I asked, crossing the room to her. But she walked past me and laid the book on the table. "Silver chains can be spelled to prevent the use of magic."

"Yes, that's right!" I said. "Xander and Elias tied Balista up in the dungeon using spelled chains. But as soon as he broke free, his magic returned."

"Yes, but they can also be spelled to adhere to one's arm or wrist automatically," she replied. When it meets the witch's arm, it automatically wraps itself around it and prevents the wearer from using magic."

"Good," I said, looking over her shoulder at the spell. "Can you do it? Create the chains?"

She nodded, smiling. "I can make it into a collar or a wristband. Both will prevent their use of magic, but I t
