Chapter 31: Not That Late

ONE WEEK has passed since Daniel left and I can say I'm getting better. The pain he left me no longer stings. Sabi ko na nga ba, I don't really need people in my life. Kaya ko naman palang mag-isa. I am happy because I no longer have to worry about others rather than myself.

"Hannah, sabay na tayong mag-lunch?" alok sa akin ni Eulla sabay lapag ng lunch box niya. "Marami akong niluto ngayon."

I stared at her with a blank expression, hoping it could cast her smile away, but it did not. She even widened her smile as she offered me her lunch. 

"Let's go? It's been a week since we had a meal together," aniya at bahagya pang ngumuso.

"I have something to do, Eulla, I'm sorry," sagot ko bago iniligpit ang mga gamit ko. Akmang aalis na sana ako nang harangan niya ako sa may pintuan, dahilan para mapatingin sa amin ang mga kaklase namin.

"Are you avoiding me?" tanong niya sa mahinang boses. "Did I do something wrong? Did I offend you? Tell me."
