After he left, I tried to cry. I thought about going to the package store and getting a bottle. I thought about beating the walls out of the motel room. In the end, I didn't do any of those things. I just sat there, numb, for the rest of the night. Bobby found me and didn't say a word, starting the shower and practically shoving me inside. The hot water hit me and I cried, bitter tears of betrayal and loss. I was a lot better when I got out. "Let's go. You're driving."
