38-Let’s Make a Deal

Milo is doing push-ups, when Sebastian opens his cell door.

Milo looks up and gets to his feet. Milo furrows his eyebrows, and his mouth is slightly agape.

“How can you still smell like Tempe? Judging by my meals, she has been dead five months.”

“Cole trusts you,” Sebastian says.

“Prince trusts you,” Milo nods.

“Why did you not run with your brother?” Sebastian asks.

“He was part of the plot to kill Tempe. He lost me there. He knew she was likely pregnant because of her heat. Killing children is why we hate humans. I won’t stoop that low,” Milo confesses honestly.

“Your mate is human,” Sebastian says.

Milo’s eyes go wide, and he starts breathing heavily.

“Yes,” Milo chokes out.

“Temperance was on her way to see your mate and child when the plane exploded. Lucius claimed to have killed them in Barcelona,” Sebastian tells him. Milo sinks to the floor.

“Prince is suppressed, I can’t feel her.”

“Empty feeling isn’t it, not feeling your mate,” Sebastian says sternly.

Milo looks up at him.
