62-Backyard

Juliet gets closer to the hair and face. It’s badly decomposed and not a lot of skin is still showing. She is staring, trying to place the features.

“Ma’am,” One of the plumbers calls to her.

“Can one of you come out here?” Juliet asks. “There is something in the muck.”

He comes out, “It’s most likely an animal drawn to the smell and got stuck.”

“No, it’s not an animal,” Juliet looks closely as the features start to make sense.

“Ma’am, we need to call the police,” The plumber tells her. “There is a human.”

Juliet looks as realization dawns on her. She grabs her phone and runs away.

“Hank,” She sobs into the phone as she gets in her car. “Hank, she is dead. Mom, my mom is dead.”

“Juliet, what are you talking about?” Hank tries to stay calm.

“I’m coming to you now. I’m never going back. He killed my mother, he killed her and buried her in the back yard, or he had someone do it. Either way, he, he did it. I, I can’t breathe,” Juliet starts to have a panic attack. She drops the phone.
