“Geez, Ruby. Why are you trying to kill me?” she heard him ask and she realized who it was, and then she opened her eyes to see him clearly, the light from outside shining in.

“Oh, Cameron. You almost gave me a fright.” She said, even though he had practically given her more than a fright. She had almost had a heart attack when she realized someone was in the house. She was right when she said that it wasn't anyone from the people she knew who had gone to bed.

“Huh, am I supposed to apologize to you for almost breaking my head?” he asked, collecting the club completely from her hand and dropping it at his side.

“Oh yes, you should. Why were you in the dark for goodness sake? You could have been anyone, a thief even.” She said.

“But I'm not!”

“And I should have given you the opportunity to turn out to be before swinging the club I supposed.” She asked in sarcasm.

“That’s definitely not what I meant. I was just too close to you killing me, that's all.” He sighed, rubbing his head
